Hebrews 9:27–28
27 "And inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment, 28 so Christ also, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time for salvation without reference to sin, to those who eagerly await Him."
The entire 9th chapter of Hebrews has followed for us the parable of the Day of Atonement. On that day, we saw a priest enter a tent with the blood of a goat. He was seeking to make atonement. One of the ways you knew the sacrifice was accepted was when the priest emerged from the tent. God had accepted the offering and the priest's life had been spared. Certainly God's acceptance of Christ was proven at His resurrection when He emerged from the grave. But even more than that, we now eagerly await our great Savior's return from heaven when our salvation will be complete. Pray that our church would eagerly await the return of Christ.
