1 John 3:4–6
4 "Everyone who practices sin also practices lawlessness; and sin is lawlessness. 5 You know that He appeared in order to take away sins; and in Him there is no sin. 6 No one who abides in Him sins; no one who sins has seen Him or knows Him."
These three verses don't describe the presence of sin, but rather the ongoing practice of it. While we each sin, we do not surrender to it or accept it. We grieve over it, confess it, repent of it, war against it, and do everything we can to eradicate it from our lives. That is the mark of redemption. Renew your commitment to put sin in your life to death today.
