1 John 2:24–25
24 "As for you, let that abide in you which you heard from the beginning. If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, you also will abide in the Son and in the Father. 25 This is the promise which He Himself made to us: eternal life."
The word "abide" is MENO in the Greek. It means "remain". That is John's simple admonition in a world full of antichrists who defect from Christ. Don't go with them. You remain in the truth; you remain with Christ. For if you remain you receive the promise which is eternal life. Commit to Christ today to remain with Him even in an evil world.
