Hebrews 9:13–14
13 "For if the blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a heifer sprinkling those who have been defiled sanctify for the cleansing of the flesh, 14 how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without blemish to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?"
We have recognized the different effect of Christ's sacrifice. Namely that Christ's sacrifice cleans the conscience, not just the flesh. But we also love the words, "how much more". It wouldn't matter if Christ had a different purpose in His sacrifice if it were no more effective than that of the former priests. But Christ's offering is totally effective because He "offered Himself without blemish". His offering worked. Those in Christ are forgiven. Guilt is removed. The conscience is clear. Praise Jesus for that!
