Hebrews 7:26–28
26 "For it was fitting for us to have such a high priest, holy, innocent, undefiled, separated from sinners and exalted above the heavens; 27 who does not need daily, like those high priests, to offer up sacrifices, first for His own sins and then for the sins of the people, because this He did once for all when He offered up Himself. 28 For the Law appoints men as high priests who are weak, but the word of the oath, which came after the Law, appoints a Son, made perfect forever."

What a wealth of information we find here!  At its core it is another comparison between the priests ordained by the Law and the one true Priest ordained through the oath of Psalms 110:4.  First consider the priests ordained through the Law.  One main word describes them: "weak".  They were sinful and prone to stumbling.  They had to first atone for their own sins before they could atone for yours.  They were subject to deception and temptation and constant moral failure.  In short, there was always a chance your priest would disqualify himself and his offering on your behalf would be rejected.  This morning praise God that He ordained a better way!
