029 Advancing The Kingdom

Mark 6:7-13

March 22, 2026

I want us to begin tonight by turning to the book of Daniel.

TURN TO: DANIEL 2:36-45

You likely remember this passage, as it is a time when Daniel is called to explain a dream which was given to Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon.

Nebuchadnezzar saw a statue.

·      It had a head of gold

·      It had a breast and arms of silver

·      It had a belly and thighs of bronze

·      It had legs of iron

·      It had feet that were a mixture of iron and clay

Then Nebuchadnezzar saw a stone cut without hands

Strike the statue on its feet and crushed them

And the entire statue became like chaff and blew away

And only the stone remained.

Nebuchadnezzar was perplexed at the meaning of the dream

And Daniel was called to interpret it.

READ DANIEL 2:36-45

And there we are given the explanation.

·      The head of gold was Babylon

·      The breast and arms of silver were the Medes and the Persians

·      The belly and thighs of bronze would be the Greeks

·      And the legs of iron would be Rome

·      The feet of iron and clay would be the antichrist kingdom

And though Daniel spoke of these kingdoms prophetically,

We see them now historically.

All but the kingdom of the antichrist have come and gone.

One could of course argue that antichrist has come and remained for some time

1 John 2:18 “Children, it is the last hour; and just as you heard that antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have appeared; from this we know that it is the last hour.”

We live in a fallen world that is ever increasingly anti-Christ

And one day the final antichrist will emerge from this evil world system.

But what Daniel saw were the kingdoms of the world.

To a great extent each of these kingdoms was actually demonic

As they were all dominated by the god of this world.

In the book of the Revelation they are depicted as a great 7 headed beast which we have seen afflict God’s people throughout the ages.

Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, Rome, & Antichrist

And the point is that though they look mighty in the world

THEY ARE REALLY ALL FROM THE SAME SOURCE.

They are all empty and evil.

The kingdoms of this world are in that way all the same.

Even the great United States of America is under such an evil influence.

Worldly kingdoms are just that…worldly.

They are all under the control of the god of this world.

But Daniel saw a stone.

(44-45) “In the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which will never be destroyed, and that kingdom will not be left for another people; it will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, but it will itself endure forever. “Inasmuch as you saw that a stone was cut out of the mountain without hands and that it crushed the iron, the bronze, the clay, the silver and the gold, the great God has made known to the king what will take place in the future; so the dream is true and its interpretation is trustworthy.”

·      Daniel saw the stone which was rejected by the builders.

·      Daniel saw the stone which would become the chief cornerstone.

·      Daniel saw the kingdom which would demolish all earthly kingdoms.

And certainly for generations

Men like Daniel eagerly awaited this kingdom.

We got announcements of it.

Isaiah 9:2-7 “The people who walk in darkness Will see a great light; Those who live in a dark land, The light will shine on them. You shall multiply the nation, You shall increase their gladness; They will be glad in Your presence As with the gladness of harvest, As men rejoice when they divide the spoil. For You shall break the yoke of their burden and the staff on their shoulders, The rod of their oppressor, as at the battle of Midian. For every boot of the booted warrior in the battle tumult, And cloak rolled in blood, will be for burning, fuel for the fire. For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace. There will be no end to the increase of His government or of peace, On the throne of David and over his kingdom, To establish it and to uphold it with justice and righteousness From then on and forevermore. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will accomplish this.”

Or Jeremiah’s promise:

Jeremiah 33:14-18 “‘Behold, days are coming,’ declares the Lord, ‘when I will fulfill the good word which I have spoken concerning the house of Israel and the house of Judah. ‘In those days and at that time I will cause a righteous Branch of David to spring forth; and He shall execute justice and righteousness on the earth. ‘In those days Judah will be saved and Jerusalem will dwell in safety; and this is the name by which she will be called: the Lord is our righteousness.’ “For thus says the Lord, ‘David shall never lack a man to sit on the throne of the house of Israel; and the Levitical priests shall never lack a man before Me to offer burnt offerings, to burn grain offerings and to prepare sacrifices continually.’”

And there are of course many others.

There is a King who will come

And establish His kingdom over and above every other kingdom.

Well in the gospel of Mark WE ARE SEEING THAT KING.

He has come to earth and He is on a conquest.

First He is ushering a spiritual kingdom.

HE IS APPROACHING THE SPIRITUAL KINGDOM OF THE USURPER.

·      The ruler of this world is the prince of the power of the air.

·      The god of this world is that usurper from the garden.

·      The god of this world is that satan dragon who captivates men.

While we see physical kingdoms,

We know they are all simply under his spiritual reign.

Christ came first to end that reign.

To overthrow the king of this world

And to establish a kingdom that will defeat his.

And then someday Christ will return to set up a physical kingdom

The whole earth will be filled with the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.

Revelation 11:15-18 “Then the seventh angel sounded; and there were loud voices in heaven, saying, “The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ; and He will reign forever and ever.” And the twenty-four elders, who sit on their thrones before God, fell on their faces and worshiped God, saying, “We give You thanks, O Lord God, the Almighty, who are and who were, because You have taken Your great power and have begun to reign. “And the nations were enraged, and Your wrath came, and the time came for the dead to be judged, and the time to reward Your bond-servants the prophets and the saints and those who fear Your name, the small and the great, and to destroy those who destroy the earth.”

That is when we’ll see all those prophecies fulfilled with the wolf dwelling with the lamb and the bear with the ox and the child playing near the cobra’s hole.

That day is coming.

But what Mark saw first was the coming of the spiritual kingdom.

Remember, he saw Christ on conquest.

·      He emerged out of the wilderness confident.

Mark 1:14-15 “Now after John had been taken into custody, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of God, and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.”

Jesus was declaring that the time of Satan’s dominion was over.

The real King had arrived

He is here to release the captives from Satan’s terrible reign.

And then we saw Jesus do just that.

He invaded the land and demons everywhere

Were running up to Him and surrendering.

·      He was healing…

·      He was saving…

·      He was rescuing…

Though the kingdom is small like a mustard seed,

It is getting bigger for Jesus is growing His kingdom.

BUT WE ALSO REMEMBER THAT

Jesus recruited servants to join Him in that task.

We also read in Mark 1:

Mark 1:16-17 “As He was going along by the Sea of Galilee, He saw Simon and Andrew, the brother of Simon, casting a net in the sea; for they were fishermen. And Jesus said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you become fishers of men.”

1.    Those men had been first called by Jesus back in John 1.

2.    In Mark 1 Jesus approached them again to follow and be a part of His mission.

3.    Later He actually set apart 12 from the group of people He had called.

Mark 3:16-19 “And He appointed the twelve: Simon (to whom He gave the name Peter), and James, the son of Zebedee, and John the brother of James (to them He gave the name Boanerges, which means, “Sons of Thunder”); and Andrew, and Philip, and Bartholomew, and Matthew, and Thomas, and James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus, and Simon the Zealot; and Judas Iscariot, who betrayed Him.”

AND NOW HE IS ABOUT TO SEND THEM OUT ON MISSION.

·      They have been following.

·      They have been watching.

·      They have been learning.

He has taught them

·      All about those soils and how not all soil will accept the seed.

·      How light must be shined.

·      How the kingdom is small, but growing.

·      How the kingdom grows supernaturally.

They have been instructed.

Now they are being sent out.

They will join Christ in His mission

To advance His spiritual kingdom.

Up until now Jesus has been doing it all.

Now we see Him as A MIGHTY GENERAL

Dispatching the troops into enemy territory

To continue the mission He has begun.

TONIGHT in these 7 verses we’re just going to listen as Mark talks to us about the advancement of the kingdom.

Next time we’ll see just how effective that advance was,

·      As Mark gives the illustration of Herod who is so overwhelmed by the advance of Christ’s kingdom that he thinks it must be John the Baptist risen from the dead.

BUT TONIGHT we see the disciples part in advancing the kingdom.

We’ll see how the kingdom of Christ advances.

#1 THROUGH COMMISSION

Mark 6:7-11

What you see in verses 7-11 is the initial commission of Jesus.

Now, before we look at it, there are some things we need to point out.

FIRST OF ALL,

There was much more to this commission from Jesus than Mark includes.

Matthew by far gave the longest depiction.

·      You can read about it Matthew 10,

·      Where not only did Matthew include what Mark said,

·      But also another 27 verses about the persecution the disciples would face and must overcome.

·      It is where we get the warnings about being sent out as sheep amidst goats.

·      It is where He reveals that they will be hated by all.

·      It is where He promises that their only family will hate them.

·      It is where He calls them to persevere anyway.

So there was a lot more said here than Mark includes.

SECONDLY

We would also point out that the instruction Jesus gives here was at least in part temporary.

For example, Jesus is adamant here in this commission

That the disciples not take any provisions with them.

“take nothing…no bread, no bag, no money…do not put on two tunics”

They were supposed to go empty-handed.

·      Matthew’s explanation for this was because they were worthy of all the support they would receive along the way.

Matthew 10:9-10 “Do not acquire gold, or silver, or copper for your money belts, or a bag for your journey, or even two coats, or sandals, or a staff; for the worker is worthy of his support.”

But you see that during this commission

They were to take no extra provision.

However, the night before Jesus died, as the disciples entered the garden this admonition would be changed by the Lord.

Luke 22:35-38 “And He said to them, “When I sent you out without money belt and bag and sandals, you did not lack anything, did you?” They said, “No, nothing.” And He said to them, “But now, whoever has a money belt is to take it along, likewise also a bag, and whoever has no sword is to sell his coat and buy one. “For I tell you that this which is written must be fulfilled in Me, ‘And He was numbered with transgressors’; for that which refers to Me has its fulfillment.” They said, “Lord, look, here are two swords.” And He said to them, “It is enough.”

That command to take no provision was a temporary one.

From here on out Christ reminded His followers

That the world hated Him and was about to crucify Him.

·      They could no longer count on support from those they are going to reach.

·      They could no longer count on safety from those they are going to reach.

·      They would have to gather their own support and recognize that they were going into hostile territory.

So, as we begin looking at this text in Mark

We do so understanding that

1.    Mark did not tell us near all that Jesus had to say,

2.    And some of what Jesus had to say here would be temporary.

That leaves us then to seek to discern Mark’s point.

·      Why did Mark include what he included?

·      What is Mark trying to show us here about the message of Jesus to the 12?

We might start by recognizing that

Mark records 4 actions taken by Jesus here in the first two verses.

(7-8) “And He summoned the twelve and began to send them out in pairs, and gave them authority over the unclean spirits; and He instructed them that they should take nothing for their journey, except a mere staff—no bread, no bag, no money in their belt”

·      We see that Jesus “summoned the twelve”

·      We see that Jesus “began to send them out in pairs”

·      We see that Jesus supplied “gave them authority over the unclean spirits”

·      We see what Jesus stated “instructed them to that they should take nothing”

So out of all the disciples that are following Jesus,

These are the 12 He is sending.

The phrase “began to send” indicates that it didn’t happen all at once, but that He somewhat staggered their sendoff.

·      As they traveled He might say, “James and John you two take that road to that village.”

·      Perhaps they travel a little farther, “Matthew and Philip, you two take that road to that village”

·      A little further, “Peter, you and Andrew take that road to that village.”

And we noted how, as in Matthew’s gospel,

They were commanded to take nothing.

But the first thing that sticks out to us is that

Mark is singular regarding the authority that Jesus gave.

Again, let me read Matthew just for contrast.

Matthew 10:7-8 “And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ “Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons. Freely you received, freely give.”

According to Matthew there was a whole list of things which Jesus told the 12 to do on their journey.

·      Preaching, healing, raising the dead, cleansing lepers, casting out demons

But in Mark’s gospel we only get one.

“and gave them authority over the unclean spirits;”

Mark’s singular focus certainly comes into view.

These men are being sent on conquest

To take on the armies of the enemy.

·      This is NOT a battle of persuasion,

·      This is a spiritual battle against the armies of hell for the souls of men.

·      This is NOT just about taking men who are neutral and convincing them to come to church,

·      This is a war against the fallen angels of Satan who are holding men captive in his darkened kingdom.

THAT IS MARK’S FOCUS.

Now clearly Jesus said more,

·      For down in verse 12 we do find the 12 preaching

·      And in verse 13 we do find the 12 healing diseases.

But the point is that during the statement of commission

Mark wants to highlight that their mission

Is a spiritual mission against the forces of hell.

They are being sent to the battlefield to engage the enemy,

But before they go Jesus gave them

All the authority they needed to win the battle.

We certainly understand the point:

Ephesians 6:10-12 “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.”

When you go out into the world you are fighting this same spiritual battle.

You may think it’s just stubborn men,

But it is actually men who are held captive by the enemy

And unable to believe.

What do we read?

2 Corinthians 4:3-4 “And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, in whose case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they might not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.”

2 Timothy 2:24-26 “The Lord’s bond-servant must not be quarrelsome, but be kind to all, able to teach, patient when wronged, with gentleness correcting those who are in opposition, if perhaps God may grant them repentance leading to the knowledge of the truth, and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, having been held captive by him to do his will.”

Evangelism is a spiritual war.

It is to go in the name of our King and His kingdom

To go and overthrow the kingdom of darkness.

As has been pointed out before,

We do this not with weapons, but with truth.

2 Corinthians 10:3-6 “For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh, for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses. We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ, and we are ready to punish all disobedience, whenever your obedience is complete.”

THAT IS MARK’S FOCUS

Jesus is commissioning the 12 to go out and engage the enemy in battle.

·      He is giving them all the authority they need to win.

·      He is sending them to set the captives of Satan’s kingdom free.

·      This is a liberation mission.

And then, as we said, He told them to “take nothing” as they go.

(8-10) “and He instructed them that they should take nothing for their journey, except a mere staff—no bread, no bag, no money in their belt— but to wear sandals; and He added, “Do not put on two tunics.” And He said to them, “Wherever you enter a house, stay there until you leave town.”

MacArthur points out that part of this had to do with training the disciples to walk by faith. I certainly agree with that.

He points out that the command to stay in the first house you lodge in as a command for contentment that they not try to move up in to bigger and better houses. I certainly agree with that.

But what Mark writes seems to have a different feel.

Mark hears the command of Jesus to go

And expect those to whom you are going to take care of you.

Mark hears the command of Jesus to go

And to expect to stay in the first house you come to for as long as you want.

If someone showed up in Spur today and said,

“I’m here with a message for the King. I’ll be staying in your house until I’m done. I’m going to need you to take care of all my physical needs while I’m here.”

·      Would you feel a little imposed upon?

·      Would you feel like telling them to pick another house?

·      Would you want to set some stipulations before you let them in?

·      Like how long exactly?

·      Like how much do you eat?

What they are being commissioned to do sounds a little imposing,

Even for a culture that was designed to show hospitality to strangers.

BUT MARK ALSO INCLUDES

THE WARNING of Jesus to reject those who refuse them.

(11) “Any place that does not receive you or listen to you, as you go out from there, shake the dust off the soles of your feet for a testimony against them.”

Those of you who have traveled to Africa will remember this.

·      When you get on the airplane to fly home one of the first things those flight

attendants do is walk down the aisle spraying everyone with some sort of

                  aerosol.

·      Then when you get back to the states they make you stand in some sort of

solution in a rubber tote to clean the bottom of your shoes.

·      They ask you if you’ve been in contact with any livestock or walked in any of

                  their manure.

They don’t want you bringing

Any contamination from Africa with you back into the States.

Well that is what the Jews did too.

When they would travel through Gentile lands, before entering Israel they would stop and shake all the dust off their feet before stepping on Israel’s soil.

They were keeping their land pure.

Well Jesus equated anyone in Israel

Who won’t listen to your message

As the equivalent of a Gentile pagan.

·      See their land as foreign land.

·      See their soil as foreign soil.

·      Shake it off as a testimony against them.

Acts 13:50-51 “But the Jews incited the devout women of prominence and the leading men of the city, and instigated a persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and drove them out of their district. But they shook off the dust of their feet in protest against them and went to Iconium.”

BEING ACCEPTED BY THOSE YOU GO TO WAS NOT OPTIONAL.

SO MARK POINTS OUT THAT

1.    They are going to take on a demonic army.

2.    That those they are going to liberate should foot the bill.

3.    And if any don’t, then treat them like they are in league with the enemy.

SO WHAT IS THE POINT?

·      You are going on a rescue mission.

·      You are going with a message of good news.

·      You have every right to expect that those you preach to will receive you.

When I was a kid I used to live in anticipation of the day Ed McMahon would show up at our house in that yellow Publishers Clearing House van and give my parents a million dollars.

I had no idea how that happened, but I saw on TV

That they showed up at people’s houses and gave them money.

That was a stranger coming to deliver good news.

And if Ed McMahon had ever knocked on my door,

·      I would have let him in.

·      I would have told him he could sleep in my room.

·      He could have stayed as long as he needed.

·      He would have been a welcomed guest.

Why?

Because he was bringing good news!

AND THAT IS THE POINT.

I think sometimes, because of the endless banter of the world,

We tend to think that as missionaries

We are going to bother people and upset their lives.

Sometimes we actually feel guilty for imposing on people

As if we were bringing them bad news.

ABSOLUTELY NOT!

You think Ed McMahon ever felt guilty

Knocking on a door to give someone 1 million dollars?

YOU ARE GOING TO PEOPLE

Who are held captive by the enemy to sin and ultimately be judged by God for it.

·      And you are offering them freedom.

·      You are offering them forgiveness.

·      You are offering them escape from the dungeon.

THAT’S GOOD NEWS!

·      They ought to welcome you gladly.

·      They ought to welcome you in.

·      They ought to offer you a seat, a glass of tea, and a meal.

·      They ought to let you stay the night.

They most certainly shouldn’t tell you to get lost!

Ever seen those videos of the allied forces after they landed at Normandy and made their way into France?

·      Ever seen them walking through Paris having liberated it from the Nazis?

·      Those soldiers got kissed by more French women then they could have ever imagined.

·      They were liberators!

·      They had overthrown the evil army!

·      Their mission was a good one!

The disciples were being sent on a good mission

With a message of good news.

There is no reason to feel shame or guilt about that.

1 Peter 1:10-12 “As to this salvation, the prophets who prophesied of the grace that would come to you made careful searches and inquiries, seeking to know what person or time the Spirit of Christ within them was indicating as He predicted the sufferings of Christ and the glories to follow. It was revealed to them that they were not serving themselves, but you, in these things which now have been announced to you through those who preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven—things into which angels long to look.”

It is the greatest message ever preached.

You should never feel guilty for offering liberty to captives.

NOW IF THEY DO REJECT YOU…

It’s because they are in league with the enemy.

·      They love their sin and their master.

·      They want to stay in Satan’s kingdom.

In which case you shake the dust off your feet and move on.

BUT THE EMPHASIS OF MARK IS THAT WE ARE ON A GOOD MISSION.

·      We are setting captives free.

·      We are advancing the kingdom of light.

·      We are spreading good news.

THIS IS A GLORIOUS COMMISSION.

But there’s a second way the kingdom advances.

Not only through commission.

#2 THROUGH CONFESSION

Mark 6:12-13

You’ve got to love verse 12.

“They went out and preached that men should repent.”

It’s obvious that the method of Jesus to grow His kingdom

Is that men have to go out and preach.

Someone has to tell the captives how to find the freedom they need.

If we wanted to go to Matthew’s version that chapter actually ends with:

Matthew 10:32-42 “Therefore everyone who confesses Me before men, I will also confess him before My Father who is in heaven. “But whoever denies Me before men, I will also deny him before My Father who is in heaven. “Do not think that I came to bring peace on the earth; I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. “For I came to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; and a man’s enemies will be the members of his household. “He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me; and he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. “And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me. “He who has found his life will lose it, and he who has lost his life for My sake will find it. “He who receives you receives Me, and he who receives Me receives Him who sent Me. “He who receives a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward; and he who receives a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man’s reward. “And whoever in the name of a disciple gives to one of these little ones even a cup of cold water to drink, truly I say to you, he shall not lose his reward.”

Clearly confession is the goal.

And Mark’s focus helps us identify this point.

He DOESN’T write that they told men to repent and believe. (Which they certainly did)

Mark ONLY mentions repentance.

NOW WHY?

·      These are captives.

·      These are slaves.

·      Why is the message that they “should repent”?

Because they have spent their lives

In the wrong kingdom serving the wrong king.

In fact, they were born into that kingdom.

1.    They were then trained even by their parents and the world around them.

2.    And their very nature loved it.

3.    And when given the opportunity, they spurned the commands of God and

                 served the prince of darkness.

ISN’T THAT TRUE?

They are slaves, but they are not innocent.

How many times do we see people in their horrible circumstances and someone will say, “It’s self-inflicted”?

Now, they may have had help,

But when pulled down to the irreducible minimum,

They made a choice to serve the wrong king.

Romans 3:23 “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,”

Romans 3:12 “All have turned aside, together they have become useless; There is none who does good, There is not even one.”

Ephesians 2:3 “Among them we too all formerly lived in the lusts of our flesh, indulging the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest.”

And therefore the call is simple.

They must repent.

Think of a child born in Nazi Germany in the 1920’s.

They couldn’t help where they were born, but they were born there none the less.

·      Maybe they were heavily influenced by their culture.

·      Maybe they were pressured by the civil authorities.

·      Maybe they were pushed to serve in the military.

·      Maybe they carried out the commands of their commanding officer.

But when that war was over, they were still found guilty

For the atrocious crimes they had committed.

WHY?

Because their kingdom lost and the other kingdom handed out the judgment.

Do you understand now why repentance matters?

Men are not just innocent slaves.

Men are not 100% victims.

·      Sure there is a devil who deceives.

·      Sure there is a culture who pressures.

But at the end of the day it is still the choice of the man

To serve the wrong king and the wrong kingdom.

And that man must repent of that choice.

He must see the error of his ways

And leave the old king and his kingdom behind.

And the beauty here is that the disciples went out

AND GAVE MEN THAT OPPORTUNITY.

How many Nazis on trial at Nuremberg would have loved the opportunity to repent and change sides?

That is what the disciples are offering here.

·      They are offering sinners who have served the wrong king the chance to repent

                 and change sides.

As you go, please view repentance in that light.

We are programmed to think we are offering a bad thing

When we offer men repentance.

(that’s why we omit it)

We are offering them a precious gift and opportunity!

They can escape their judgment

If they will repent of having served the wrong king.

That is what the disciples preached.

And accompanied with that, they demonstrated the victory of the kingdom they promoted.

(13) “And they were casting out many demons and were anointing with oil many sick people and healing them.”

They were engaging in the same battles Jesus engaged in

And were winning.

LOOK AT IT LIKE THIS.

1.    The disciples entered a town and immediately overwhelmed the enemy forces.

2.    They defeated the demons who held the town captive.

3.    They reversed the results of their evil torment.

And then they looked at the people and said, “Who wants to leave that losing kingdom and enter the kingdom of light?”

·      “Will you repent of having served that wrong king?”

·      “Will you pledge your loyalty to the rightful king?”

No one in their right mind should reject an offer like that.

If they did, and still chose the enemy, then it’s time to shake the dust off and move on.

This is evangelism.

This is missions.

·      We are going to set captives free.

·      We go with a message of good news.

·      We go with the hope of liberation.

·      We go with the offer of repentance.

·      We go with the offer of citizenship in the true kingdom.

The disciples did that and advanced the kingdom all over Galilee.

They did exactly what Daniel saw.

They started causing the kingdom of satan to crumble and fall.

And the church has been doing it ever since.

We take the good news and offer men

A chance to escape the losing side and join the winning side,

If they will apologize to the king and submit to His kingdom.

Don’t neglect that mission.

Embrace it!

It’s a glorious mission!
