The Holy Spirit

The night before Jesus died He actually told His disciples that it was advantageous for Him to leave.  It is a mind-blowing reality.  How could life and ministry possibly be better if Jesus were not here?  The answer: The Holy Spirit.  The Holy Spirit will not compete with Jesus, nor will He ever take Jesus’ spotlight. So as long as Jesus was on earth, the Holy Spirit would not come.  But Jesus said, “if I go, I will send Him to you.” (John 16:7).  The Holy Spirit is absolutely essential to everything we do as Christians in this life.  He is our source of power, He is our source of security, He is our source of sanctification, He is our guide, He is our victory.  We need Him!  What a tragedy then to find that so many believers are terrified of Him.  Thanks in large part to all the many false teachings about the person of the Holy Spirit many believers are frankly terrified to allow Him to work in their lives.  “If I surrender to the Holy Spirit, God only knows what I might do, or what He might do to me!”  What a tragedy!  I invite you to study along with us as we go in search of the Biblical Holy Spirit.  Who is He? What does He do? Why do I need Him?  If you love the Father, and you love the Son, then I promise you’re going to love the Holy Spirit too!
