Israel had been disobedient. God’s anger prompted a 70 year exile into the land of Babylon. Nebuchadnezzar had surrounded Jerusalem and starting taking men and women captive. In a short time the city would be destroyed and the temple of God would be burned. If ever there was a time when it appeared that God had lost, this must have been it. And yet, through the book of Daniel we learn that nothing could be further from the truth. GOD IS SOVEREIGN, is the message revealed time and time again. Through this great book we’ll see rulers from two world kingdoms humbled before the God of Israel, and we’ll realize the promise that God has His own kingdom coming with His own King set to reign. Just because it may seem like God has lost control, don’t be deceived, He is Sovereign.
