For years our church has hosted Disciple-Now, which is a weekend conference for youth to remind them that it is never too early to start following Christ and serving His kingdom. They can be disciples now. With that in mind we would like to invite all adults age 55 and up to our first ever Disciple-Still weekend where we seek not only to honor the senior adults of our congregation but also to encourage them that they are disciples still and such a valuable part of the ministry of the church and the kingdom of heaven. We hope you’ll be a part!
Our theme this year is “UNFINISHED” as we seek to encourage you that until the Lord returns or takes us home, our task as His servants is not yet finished!

PREACHER BOBBY TOWELL
Bobby graduated from Sweetwater High School in the eventful and tumultuous year of 1968. Like many of his generation, he foolishly followed the trends of the time. Sin took him further than he intended to go and kept him longer than he intended to stay. But the “Hound of Heaven” persistently pursued him from coast to coast and around every dark corner. The Lord would not let him escape his irresistible grace. The Father brought the prodigal son back home and to himself in December of 1971. He has been a disciple of Jesus Christ for over 52 years now. He graduated from Warner Pacific University with a B.A. in Religion and Fuller Theological Seminary with M.A. in Theology. Bobby has served churches in the Northwest, Colorado, and Texas. He now serves as a hospice chaplain.
Bobby and his wife, Joyce, are active members of Southside Baptist Church of Abilene, Texas. They have led a home group and participated in D-groups. Bobby teaches in different groups and classes of Southside. He and Joyce are presently assisting in the college class and discipling a group of college students. Bobby and Joyce have been married for 50 years. They have 2 married daughters and 6 grandchildren. Bobby and Joyce’s prayer and goal is to leave a godly legacy for their children and grandchildren, and to finish their course with joy.
